We’re two months into 2024, and the team at EdTechNZ are excited for what we’ve got in store for our growing community. This month, our executive council came together to hold our 2024 strategy day. Led by the incredible Steve McCrone from the University of Auckland, and hosted at the beautiful AWS offices in Tāmaki Makaurau.
Our strategy day was a deep dive into how we can foster an environment of innovation and collaboration. We discussed the critical role of technology in education, focusing on how we can enhance learning outcomes within local edtech. Recognising the importance of power and influence, we committed to using our platform responsibly, advocating for policies and practices that benefit our community, and both local and global sectors.
Inclusion was a key theme with a focus on ensuring our meetings and actions are accessible and meaningful for all members. We discussed clear actions and objectives that reflect our collective vision for the future of educational technology in New Zealand.
As we chart our course for the year, we’re committed to ensuring our initiatives and efforts directly support the evolving needs of our members, and the broader educational technology landscape in New Zealand. We aim to amplify our impact through thoughtful advocacy and strategic engagement, while championing the transformative power of technology in education.
Looking ahead, we’re excited about the direction we’re taking. With the support of our community, we have the resources and the resolve to implement our strategy. We recognise the challenges that lie ahead, yet we’re inspired by the potential for positive change and the role we can play in shaping the future. We’re still cementing our calendar of activities for 2024, so stay tuned for future newsletters to find out what’s in store.
We invite you to join us on this journey, contributing your insights, expertise, and passion for making a difference.
