Teacher Discussion Forum: Creating Confident Writers in the Digital Age
Join Stylefit’s online teacher forum to find out more about and discuss improving the standard of students’ writing skills
About this event
Two thirds of students who sat a recent trial run of new NCEA literacy assessments failed to meet the writing standard.
As an EdTech company, Stylefit knows how important it is that students leave school able to write confidently and competently. This need will continue to be important as we become increasingly digital.
How can we ensure that students are future ready when education has been drastically disrupted by the pandemic and absenteeism?
How can we ensure we develop capable, future-ready students who can write well regardless of the field they go into?
Your panellists, who have generously agreed to give their time to discuss this issue, are:
Dr Michael Johnston, The New Zealand Initiative
Dr Helen Walls, Founder of The Writing Teacher and Consultant with Cognition Education
Our panel chair is Suraya Dewing, Creator and Founder of the kiwi-based innovative writing skills software, Stylefit.
We encourage you all to join the discussion with your thoughts!
You will:
– Learn what the latest research says
– Gain ideas on how to improve student writing outcomes
– Learn about innovative ways to teach writing skills
